Meet The Team

Ta'Wane Watkins is a Licensed Clinical Social worker in Washington, D.C., Virginia, and Maryland. Ta'Wane comes with a breadth of experience through micro and macro settings involving nonprofits, private practice, and television. Ta'Wane partnered with TV One to appear on "Fatal Attraction" to analyze a case from a clinical perspective.

 

While employed at Jaxcyn Therapy Group, he offers over a decade of mental health experience, delivering therapeutic and consulting services to individuals and organizations by navigating through obstacles and life's uncertainties. Specializing in anxiety and life transitions, Ta'Wane is committed to improving the culture of mental health awareness by maximizing the potential of others through evidence-based practices.

Ta'Wane utilizes his degree conferred by the University of South Carolina focusing on a customized approach with empirical research. Over the years, he allocated grant and departmental funding totaling over 67k to address student-specific issues using surveys and open forum discussions in Ward 7. In addition, Ta'Wane partners with community-based organizations to service adults in the district with a holistic mindset for continuity of care. 

In his spare time, Ta'Wane immerses himself in creating music and nature.

As a therapist with the Jaxcyn Therapy Group, I assist individuals with managing their mental health and emotional well-being while providing support, guidance, and strategies to help clients navigate their challenges and develop healthier coping mechanisms.

Every potential client is unique in their lived experiences. Therapy should be a client-centered approach. Some modalities that have been helpful with past clients include Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.
